How to check your IC (MyKad/MyPR/MyKAS) application status. Checking the status of your identity card application has never been easier. You can check if your IC is ready for pickup online or via SMS. (MyKad is the identity card for Malaysian citizens, MyPR for Malaysian permanent residents and MyKAS for Malaysian temporary residents)

Checking IC Application Status Online

The National Registration Department of Malaysia (NRD) / Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN) has provided a website that enables the checking of one’s identity card application status. All you need to do is:

1. Visit the NRD’s MyKad/MyPR/MyKAS application status checking website, here:

   https://semakan.jpn.gov.my/semak_kpt/

   

2. Enter your identity card number*, followed by the captcha and then click the “Semak” (check) button.

   *Your identity card number is printed on the application’s official receipt.

3. The result will tell you whether your card is ready for pickup.

Checking IC application Status Via SMS

Follow the steps below to check using your mobile phone. A service charge of RM0.35 applies.

1. Type JPN Mykad [IC no.]
   Example: JPN Mykad 841220122332
2. Send to 15888

To ensure fast and smooth IC pick-up, you are advised to call the registration office in advance to set the collection date. Make sure you review the particulars of your ID before leaving the office.
