SBPA Option Forms Return Deadline Extended To Jan 15
The Public Service Department of Malaysia (PSD) deputy director-general (Operations) Datuk Dr Ismail Alias has agreed to extend the deadline to return the option forms for the Public Service New Remuneration Scheme / Sistem Saraan Baru Perkhidmatan Awam (SBPA) to Jan 15 2012.
However, the deadline to return option forms for the extension of retirement age to 60 remained at Dec 30 2011 because it involves many legal issues.
He announced this after a meeting with Cuepacs delegation led by its president, Datuk Omar Osman on Dec. 23.
Among the other outcomes are:
- PSD agreed to make grades improvement, namely for Grade 17 of the administrative and security groups, especially in the Road Transport Department, Fire and Rescue Department, as well as the Immigration Department.
- A total review will be of the scheme will be carried out in the next three months.
- Regarding exit policy, it is agreed that Cuepacs must be present as an observer in the PSD's panel before any action is taken (force of early retirement) on a civil servant to prevent injustice.
- Cuepacs and Director-General of Public Service Tan Sri Abu Bakar Abdullah will hold a briefing next week pertaining issues on the salary increment of between seven and 13 per cent for civil servants.
